Interpersonnel is pleased to be working with our client once more to assist in the recruitment of an experienced Maintenance Engineer.
The Maintenance Engineer will possess both mechanical and electrical experience.
The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely maintenance of plant, ship unloaders, and mobile equipment, ensuring smooth operations and minimal downtime.
You will plan and deliver preventative and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled systems, troubleshoot breakdowns, and contribute to a strong health, safety, and environmental culture.
With at least 8 years’ experience in maintaining electrical and mechanical plant, you will bring technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and flexibility to support a 24/7 operation. This is a hands-on role where your engineering background, commitment to quality, and ability to lead and work with others will play a vital part in the client’s success.
Job Details:
· Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled systems.
· Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns swiftly to minimise downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
· Plan and execute maintenance schedules to meet both immediate and future operational needs.
· Work across plant, equipment, ship unloader, and mobile plant to ensure maximum performance.
· Contribute to a positive Health, Safety & Environmental culture, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
· Assist with continuous improvements and efficiency initiatives on site.
Job Requirement:
Engineering background with relevant qualifications.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience maintaining electrical and mechanical machinery.
Strong knowledge of H&S regulations and commitment to safety.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues effectively.
Flexible and motivated to support a 24/7 operation, including out-of-hours when required.
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and work with others.
Desirable:
Welding and fabrication experience.
IOSH Supervising Safety training.
Experience supervising maintenance of fixed and mobile plant.
Previous exposure to terminal, marine, or vessel/cargo handling environments.
Established network of local suppliers and contractors.
