Interpersonnel Recruitment have partnered with a long-established client company which specialises in the supply of construction materials and services.


Our client is seeking a talented Transport Manager that can carry out the varied duties involved as well as be approachable to haulier drivers on a daily basis yet address succession planning ideas at Board Level.


This is an exciting opportunity that has become available due to an internal promotion resulting from growth. This role will require the right candidate to deliver on compliance, health and safety, and provide advice on future transport strategies gained from industry exhibitions/seminars and market research.


Transport Manager

Based in Essex or Kent. Travel to other sites in the South East will be necessary.

THE ROLE


  • Manage the transport fleet in compliance with current legislation and ‘O’ Licence requirements.

  • Drive a successful Health, Safety and Environmental culture and performance.

  • Continually monitor, evaluate, and improve transport efficiency and drive profit improvement.

  • Provide expert advice and recommendations on future transport strategy including operating models, fleet procurement and legislation.

  • Maintain and continually improve the strong customer relationships and service record and to enhance performance.


THE REQUIREMENTS


  • We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge of LGV fleets and distribution, proven leadership skills and ability to manage and motivate a large team operating out of multiple sites

  • A lead from the front mentality, with the ability to operate at all levels within the organisation whilst working as part of the senior management team.

  • A self-motivated and disciplined individual with strong analytical and decision-making skills.

  • · With a CPC qualification in Road Transport Operations to Nationalor International.

  • · NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent is advantageous.

  • · At least 3 years management experience in a production/transport environment.


1st and 2nd round interviews will be held on site under Covid restrictions. Interpersonnel Recruitment will perform a telephone and video initial interview before submitting to our client for consideration.
