We are seeking an experienced and skilled Terminal Engineering Shift Supervisor with a mechanical or electrical engineering background to join our team and support all operational aspects of our product’s terminal operations.

As a Shift Supervisor, your key responsibility is to supervise of a small team and to ensure the safe operation of movement of goods from vessel onto site, then on to road transport for distribution.

We are looking for someone with a mechanical or electrical engineering background to assist in operations and maintenance of all our routine onsite equipment and machinery. You will also be able to, with training on the technical equipment, be on standby to diagnose any machinery malfunctions when in operation.

This role does require candidates to work on a shift rota when vessels are in port which cover a 24 hour operation, therefore night and day time shifts will be expected on an add hoc basis (Overtime available).

Your mechanical or electrical engineering discipline will be called upon to help organise the site and ensure large equipment is working at its best capacity, and troubleshooting to ensure the site operation can proceed efficiently.

Job Description

As a part of our team, you will:

· Ensure health and safety of operation staff under supervision.

· Assist with the operation and supervision of all operational aspects of the cementitious products terminal, including bulk ship handling, product storage and handling, equipment maintenance, and upkeep.

· Mechanical maintenance of equipment, referring any issues on to management and sourcing (and finding the costings) of replacement parts. Ensuring the equipment is regularly tested in time for the expected vessel arrival.

· Oversee the day-to-day shift operations of the company's equipment, including but not limited to vessel unloaders, shovel loaders, weighbridges, silos, etc.

· Collaborate with the Operations manager and the Senior Terminal Supervisor to develop and implement maintenance and operational strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize terminal efficiency.

· Work closely alongside fellow Shift Supervisor who will be Electrical Engineering trained.

· Helping with onsite maintenance and daily plant checks.

· Operation of machinery, shovel loaders, forklifts, EWP and dock side unloading and loading equipment.

Person Specification

· Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering qualification.

· Forklift Truck licence

· Regular maintenance of equipment.

· Health and Safety training

· Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate their team.

· Staff supervision skills to ensure shifts are covered.
