My client is seeking an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor & an experienced / qualified Quantity Surveyor to join the on a full-time permanent basis. There are two positions within this department.

As a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant, you will be responsible for managing or Assisting pre and post contract duties for construction projects and/or maintenance works for the company. You will play a critical role in ensuring cost efficiency, accurate measurement and valuation of works, and adherence to contractual obligations. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented professional to contribute to the success of one of the busiest businesses in the United Kingdom.


Job duties may vary depending on skill set and experience.


Assisting Surveyor - • Assisting or Managing in the preparation of estimates, cost plans, bills of quantities, specifications and schedule of rates for new construction, improvements and maintenance work. • Assisting in carrying out construction valuations and certification duties for responsive, cyclical and planned maintenance works. • Assisting with 'Open Book' accounting on construction projects and with interim and final accounts with contractors, suppliers and consultants including the resolution of contractual claims and settlement of contracts. • Undertaking of financial checks and maintain financial controls and monitor costs of schemes against budget. • Carrying out of financial checks on completed Repairs and Maintenance job cards as required, and check compliance with the organisation’s policies and procedures. • To carry out regular reviews of all schedules of rates to ensure their continued relevance and produce trend information on usage of rates. • Assisting with the analysis of the performance of suppliers and contractors during the contract stage and following contract completion. Check compliance with contract terms and conditions and legal and regulatory requirements. • Assisting with the support of the performance management framework and monitor the status of relevant performance measures in relation to financial management. • Attending any pre-contract, progress and other related meetings relating to the delivery of services. • Assisting with the preparation, profiling, monitoring and management of budgets for all activities including responsive repairs, cyclical and planned maintenance. • To utilise the ERP, Tendering, Contract Administration and Document Management software’s and systems.


Experience required for Assistant role – Minimum 2 years of Quantity surveying experience or related.


Experience required for Quantity Surveyor – bachelor’s degree in QS or Construction Management
