Hours: working either 06.00 – 14.00 Monday to Friday or 14.00 – 22.00 Monday to Friday

Hourly Rate:£9.50ph

Location: Ashford

What will the role involve?

You will be working in a food production environment so you will need good working knowledge of machine operations, hygiene and cleaning of equipment.

You will optimize line efficiency ensuring compliance and a high attention to health & safety requirements. Communication is key - with your colleagues and drivers ensuring good safety practices

Job Summary

· To support the Team Leader – Shift Manager with the efficient running of the line or designated task.

· Train – coach and monitoring the performance and compliance of Agency Staff.

· Actively participate in Health & Safety related activities.

· Actively participate in driving forward Good Manufacturing Practices.

· Factory and office cleaning.


· Can do attitude – leads by example.

· Work closely with other teams to maximise task efficiency.

· Participate with the continuous improvement drive in the factory.

· Work closely with the team leader to reduce line downtime.


· Good communication at all levels.

· Ensuring that agency workers or new starters have clear instructions.

Customer Care

· Achieve personal KPI’s

· Ensure and maintain quality of the product within specification.

· Eliminate Non-conformances (Job right first time).


· See and communicate opportunities for continuous improvements in the production process and health & safety.

Responsibilities & Expertise

· Constantly strive to increase operational performance.

· Keep yourself up to date with company rules, regulations and procedures.


· Constant attention to safe working practices, your own as well as that of other team members and agency staff.

· Personally adhere to all prescribed working practices to ensure that the factory operates to the highest standards of hygiene and efficiency at all times.

· Personally comply with all policies, procedures and risk assessments relevant to role and responsibilities.

· Implement effective corrective actions to address any shortcomings in the performance of agency staff in a timely manner (If unable to resolve the issue escalate to Team Leader/Machine Operator – Shift Manager).

Previous experience within a similar role or environment would be desirable
