The company

Africa Express Line Ltd (AEL) is a British Registered Shipping Company and is located in Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent.

From this location AEL operates a fleet of 10 modern specialized reefer vessels on dedicated weekly Liner Services to and from Europe / Mediterranean and West Africa with a staff of professional and diversified employees specialized in the handling and transport of perishable fresh fruit cargoes, either on ship’s decks, in cargo holds or into Reefer / Dry containers.

Presentation of the role

This role will have two main tasks:

  • Provide a functional support to AEL users on their day-to-day tasks.

  • Build necessary reports using BI tool.

Description of main tasks

  • You provide a functional support to internal and external users on our different pieces of software to ease their day-to-day tasks (ERP system, reporting tool…).

  • You design and build the different reports needed by the business using our BI tool (QlikSense), working in collaboration with our head office BI team based in France.

  • Together with our key users, you define the business requirements to enhance our information systems.

  • Within the IT team, you structure and define specific solutions and participate in the implementation of information systems.

  • You assist the users by organizing workshops and trainings, and you support them in adapting the internal organization to new requirements and standards.

  • You translate the requirements into detailed functional designs to fulfil the company needs.

Basic qualifications

Your experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology or related fields.

  • Previous experience of 2 to 5 years in a similar position.

  • Strong knowledge of BI tools (QlikSense, NPrinting).

  • Proficient use of the full MS Office suite of products - Word, Excel, Power Point.

  • Experience in the logistics will be an advantage.

  • French speaking/understanding will be a bonus.
