6 month contract



My client is the leading nationwide integrated waste management business providing collection, treatment, recycling and technologically-driven energy generation services. Through the expertise of their people and investment in technology they promote and deliver sustainable waste management solutions.


We have an exciting contract opportunity for an HR Generalist to support line managers and implement the Divisional HR and balanced business plans respectively. We’ll provide you with a supportive and fun environment where you can continue to develop your HR career with lots of opportunity to broaden your HR experience and work with a professional HR function in a business that has exciting growth plans and makes a real impact in local communities and the environment.



  • Provide advice, coaching and support to line managers on all aspects of HR including recruitment, diversity, employee relations, employee engagement, performance management and managing change including TUPE and restructuring.

  • Work with the wider divisional and group HR team to deliver specific projects in line with the divisional people plan and Group HR business plan.

  • Operating as an integral part of the operational area management team, you will taking the lead on HR matters and support the area teams to help achieve the divisional business plans focusing on driving business growth and efficiencies, continuous improvement and innovation, and collaboration across the business.

  • Work with operational teams to promote and drive the employee engagement agenda, supporting the development of actions plans

  • Provide advice and support on individual cases including disciplinary, grievance and employment law related situations, absence and performance management.

  • Develop and coach line managers in effective people management activities to ensure a focus on value add priorities and dealing efficiently with HR operational activities.

  • Support line managers with the recruitment process and and act as a conduit with the Recruitment Team


  • Preferably CIPD Level 5 qualified

  • Experience of recruitment and initiatives to improve retention

  • Sourcing / Implementing training (not delivery).

  • Proficient managing and manipulating complex data and maintaining Excel spreadsheets

  • Confident with absence management and disciplinary investigations etc.

  • Ability to challenge and influence the current way of working

  • Well organised with exceptional attention to detail

  • Confident and credible verbal and written communication skills

  • Self motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude

  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively as part of a team.
