An exciting opportunity to join an industry leading organization as Head of Packaging. This role is to manage the Requisites and Stores departments, contributing to the overall success of the company.
Our client is an industry leading fresh produce provider to the UK food retail industry and are going from strength to strength. The right candidate will possess evidence of extensive experience working in a comparable role and have a strong appreciation of the business needs and resourcefulness in coming up with solutions to their challenges
Day to day interfacing with account managers on packaging material, labels, outers and pallets.
Checking and signing off new artwork designs, ensuring designs are machine compatible, and legal.
Communication to our grower base re the UK retailers requirements for packaging material, labels, outers.
Adding value packaging development.
Due diligence on each retail account for packaging.
Training of staff internally and with our UK growers re packaging and labelling requirements.
Negotiating the cost of packaging material, labels, outers with suppliers
Managing the profit and loss for the packaging department
Managing the packaging requisites team based at the office
Interfacing with the technical department
Interfacing with the commercial team
Other ad hoc duties as required to support the business
Please note due to rural location own transport is advantageous.
Evidence of extensive experience working in a comparable role
Strong appreciation of the business needs and resourcefulness in coming up with solutions to their challenges
Ability to relate to key client personnel in a professional and credible fashion
Well-developed personal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a wide range of employees
Good interpersonal skills and well-developed leadership and management skills, creativity and ability to delegate effectively and to follow-up as appropriate
Ability to delegate effectively and to follow-up as appropriate
Ability to work as part of a team with colleagues across professional, operational and cultural boundaries
Ability to identify needs and issues and recommend suitable and pragmatic courses of action and solutions, adopting a risk aware approach
