Job Summary:

My client has an immediate need for an experienced Programme Manager who will be responsible for overall management of customer relationships which are determined to be strategically critical to the company with a primary focus on international programmes in Europe & the UK. This role is Europe based (UK, Spain and Sweden) and will involve traveling to Europe. Detailed Description:

The role is to provide full oversight of all aspects of the programme or programmes, to include working with business development on capture management support, contract negotiation, develop requirements definition, engineering project oversight, Integrated Logistics Support oversight, schedule and cost control, and overall relationship management including supervision and management of post-contract award performance.

The Programme Manager ensures the customer relationship is maintained and grown. The Programme Manager is considered the single point of contact for all issues having to do with the assigned programme and must have the ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Must be able to exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies while selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria necessary to obtain results. Must have the ability to function in an uncertain environment, take initiative and understand the nuances of domestic and international business cultures.

Interfaces involve working with different functional areas where maintaining effective working relationships is a primary concern. Must serve as a liaison on specific projects between functional areas, management and/or customers. Requirements:

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or equivalent is required.

  • Technical skills and education, including the demonstrated capability to lead and execute technology related programmes both domestically and internationally is highly desired.

  • Knowledge of EO/IR sensors, laser and optical technology are a definite plus.

  • Proven experience of relevant programme or complex project management experience is required.

  • Working knowledge of US and foreign law related to procurement, Federal and Department of Defence (ITAR) acquisition regulations and programme management requirements is required.

  • Prior military experience is desired.

  • Experience with execution of technology-based projects and programmes, including aviation systems integration is desired.

  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills, plus an ability to organize and plan divergent business activities.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate objectives and gain the cooperation of all company resources. Ability to make, justify and promote sound business decisions and strategies often with minimal input or guidance.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • International business experience, including familiarity with multi-cultural aspects of international management and programme execution is highly desired.
